Isle of Wight Festival 2017 Review
Isle of Wight Festival is a music festival taking place annually on the Isle of Wight. Its special because its the first major festival of the season taking place on its very own island!
It all kicks off on Thursday 8th June until Sunday 11th June. Thursday night used to be a warmup for the manic lineup ahead, however not this year. Indie rockers, Razorlight are set to perform on the Thursday night.
>Thursday Headliner: Razorlight
>Friday Co-Headliner’s: DJ David Guetta, Run DMC
> Saturday Headliner: Arcade Fire
>Sunday Headliner: Rod Stewart
Other acts include; George Ezra, Bastille, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Kaiser Chiefs, The Vamps, Texas, Clean Bandit, Zara Larsson, Catfish and Battlement, plus many more! There’s also a range of stages to choose from including; Main Stage, Big Top, Hard Rock Stage, Electro Love 80s alongside many others.
Make sure you prepare in advance! Regardless of the weather, your going to need waterproofs (it can get rather muddy). English weather is always unpredictable and could at any point take a twist, so welly’s will come in handy as well as some comfy footwear. You’ll also need a tent, keep it on the cheap though, it’s highly unlikely it’ll come back with you. Showers and toilets are scattered across the sites but be prepared and bring loo roll! Cashpoints come at a price, so make sure you bring cash with you. Little essentials such as a torch or a portable phone charge always can also come in handy. Above all, our top tip is to pack light and wear what is comfortable whether it is rain or sunshine.
There are a few options when it comes to travelling, depending on where you are situated. You can travel by car, coach or hop on a ferry/hovercraft. After a short crossing (approx 20 minutes) you’ll arrive to the island where festival busses will be waiting to take you to the site.
Travelling by ferry is a great opportunity to meet fellow festival-goers (who know’s when you might need them).
We highly recommend you download the Isle of Wight festival app! Its FREE and everything you’ll need is all in one place. Some of its features include; a map, exclusive backstage content, festival news and stage times to ensure you don’t miss your favourite artist! Its available to download on IOS and Android.
Its not too late to get a ticket. You can purchase your festival tickets here. A weekend ticket costs £195.
